Look Out, 'Cause Here I Come (This Is Me!)

(Yes, you may as well know up front that I am a huge fan of The Greatest Showman. I have no regrets.)

So yes, this is me. Starting afresh with a new blog. I've been refreshing my website, and I thought a fresh blog would pair nicely with it.

I am a writer and author, dabbling in speculative fiction because I love creating my own worlds. My stories are vibrant with adventure and fun times, cast with stubborn characters, sassy ones, cinnamon roll ones, ones that are sleezy and eww but somehow actually have a fanbase (a one-person fanbase, but still... not sure how that happened XD). And lots of others, but I would be here all day talking about my fictional darlings.

My debut novel, Empire of Blood, released in November 2020, and it was a wild ride. Empire of Blood is book 1 of a YA fantasy duology, about two siblings who are separated in an impossible world, on opposite sides of a war, and must decide if using magic to rescue each other is worth the cost it demands.

The book started out as one standalone novel, but when the word count was reaching the 200,000 mark, I figured it miiiight be time to consider splitting it into two books. And thus, the Rebel Empire duology was born.

Now, I'm currently working on book 2 while staving off the plot bunnies of other stories that demand attention as much as my kitten does. I can't share much about that one yet. Just know... it's already made me almost cry. XD

When I'm not writing, I'm usually found reading, playing Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing, snuggling my nieces or nephews, or scolding my kitten who I'm like 85% sure spawned from the underworld.

Meet Lorelai. She likes food, chasing toys, and getting into all of my stuff.

My intention for this blog is pretty casual. I wanted something to kind of document my author journey. Revisions, publishing, announcements/updates, the works. And sometimes posts about things I've learn on the way. Just a casual, chill space to remember the journey. Because, God-willing, I'll have plenty of stories to come!
